The Archives Room is the repository for all the paper-based material preserved by the Isle of Arran Heritage Museum.

Kept under proper archival conditions of controlled temperature and humidity, and stored in acid-free containers, the collection consists of a wide variety of material with an Arran connection, together with some general reference books.

We have everything from antiquarian books, photographs, maps, documents of all types, and a complete collection of the local newspaper. Details of the archives are kept on computer, which together with the  knowledgeable staff on hand, ensures any researcher has an excellent chance of finding what they are looking for.

The Archives Room, and Research Area, are open throughout the year on Wednesdays only, from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm, or by prior appointment. Please get in touch by email: archives@arranmuseum.co.uk
