Our Winter Project
We’ve had an exciting time this winter at Arran Heritage Museum!
With help from the Ayrshire Rural and Islands Ambitions Fund we’ve been making some updates at the museum.
The Fund has helped us with the following:
- Updating our ICT equipment
- Restocking necessary Archival equipment
- New Genealogy software
- New DIY equipment
- Purchasing of materials for a shelter which our volunteers are building to help preserve some of our outdoor equipment
The aim of this project is to contribute to the longevity of the museum and its collections. Some of this work is still in progress but we hope to finish soon!
We’re also grateful to the ARIA Fund for Community Asset Maintenance which has helped us do a detailed listed building survey at the museum.
Furthermore it allows us to create a sinking fund in case of any future large scale expenses.
This essential work helps us better understand, plan, and care for our historic buildings for future generations.
