GENEALOGY

The Genealogy Department has now moved to a new purpose built room within the stable
block. In person, via E-mail, by letter and by phone, people from all over the world contact the
museum Genealogists, in their search for information on their Arran ancestors. In the new public
research area visitors can do some of their own detective work into their family trees.

SOCIAL HISTORY ARCHIVES

The Archives are now housed in a custom built room in the Museum extension. These Archives, which are added to almost daily, are looked after by the Museum’s Archivist and his band of volunteers.
Computers make it possible for members of the public to do some of their own research. All items in the Museum are now accessible on database.
